A Ukrainian drone strike on a residential building in central Ekaterinburg early Saturday has injured six people and forced the evacuation of fifty residents, according to regional Governor Denis Pasler.
The attack left one woman hospitalized with mild smoke inhalation, as confirmed by Pasler. He stated that none of the injured individuals required critical care and that emergency services were operating under a “carpet” emergency plan while air defense systems remained active at the scene.
Pasler urged residents to stay indoors and emphasized that sharing images or videos depicting drones or their aftermath is prohibited. Russia’s aviation authority has also implemented temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at Koltsovo Airport.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting 127 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, including Crimea, Tatarstan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk, as well as the Black Sea.
Moscow has accused Ukraine of resorting to terrorist tactics targeting civilians not involved in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The Kremlin additionally noted that US-mediated negotiations with Kyiv have been suspended due to developments in the Middle East.
