A recent Harvard-Harris poll of 1,725 registered voters has revealed that 56 percent of Americans support mass deporting all illegal immigrants in the United States, particularly those who have committed crimes. This represents a clear majority, with eight points ahead of the 44 percent opposed.
The survey shows strong backing across political lines: 77 percent of Republicans, 53 percent of independents, and 37 percent of Democrats favor mass deportation. When limited to illegal immigrants with criminal convictions, support jumps significantly—90 percent of Republicans, 79 percent of independents, and 71 percent of Democrats back deporting such individuals. Overall, 80 percent of Americans support deporting criminal illegal immigrants.
The poll was conducted between May 29 and May 31, 2026, with a margin of error of +/- 2.4 percent.
In a statement, Department of Homeland Security Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis noted: “While Americans enjoyed their weekends, ICE law enforcement were arresting murderers, pedophiles, child abusers, and drug traffickers. Instead of thanking ICE law enforcement for removing these monsters, sanctuary politicians continue to side with criminal illegal aliens over American citizens. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, we will always put the safety of American citizens first.”
