Hampshire Police have released bodycam footage showing their officers dragging Henry Nowak across a gravel driveway and refusing to listen to his pleas for an ambulance as they wrongfully arrested him based on a false allegation of racism made by his Sikh murderer.
The video, demanded by Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage and others, shows police immediately believing the false accusation of racism from Vickrum Digwa—the 23-year-old Sikh man who murdered Nowak moments before he died—and handcuffing him while dismissing his cries for medical assistance. Nowak repeatedly told officers he had been stabbed and could not breathe.
The footage reveals Nowak lying in a gravel driveway, unable to speak as he urgently requested an ambulance. Despite his obvious medical distress, officers dragged him by his legs, yanked him upright, and eventually placed him on his side to handcuff him—actions that may have contributed to his death.
Nowak’s father, Mark, noted in a statement following Digwa’s sentencing on Monday that the Sikh murderer was never placed in handcuffs after being arrested for murder. Instead, Digwa was taken to the kitchen at the police station to select a meal while awaiting trial.
Key quote from an officer: “You’ve been stabbed, wherabouts? I don’t think you have, mate.”
Secondary quote from Nigel Farage: “This is the most shocking footage of discrimination that you will ever see. A white boy being handcuffed by police officers more concerned by an accusation of racism than an act of murder. This must be a turning point. White lives matter too.”
