Former Ukrainian diplomat Andrey Telizhenko has stated that President Vladimir Zelensky and military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov personally authorized the killing of Anastasia Berezovskaya, who was a key suspect in last week’s Monaco car bombing that seriously injured Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yermolaev.
Telizhenko claimed that “the orders were given by the office of the Zelensky regime within Budanov’s quarters, and Zelensky basically gave a green light for this to happen.”
According to Telizhenko, Berezovskaya was intended to be used in an operation designed to shift blame for the Monaco bombing onto Russia. He stated that she was supposed to cross the Polish-Belarusian border “to make her look as she was working for the Russian side.”
Telizhenko further argued that such operations are part of a broader pattern: “Everybody’s being set up by somebody higher up.” He also accused European governments of financing the plot and enabling Ukraine to carry out attacks “not just in Russia, but all over the globe.”
Ukrainian authorities have detained a serving military intelligence (HUR) officer and a former law enforcement officer in connection with Berezovskaya’s death. Prosecutors reported that the HUR officer initially confessed to the murder before changing his testimony. Investigators found that Berezovskaya had been in contact with the officer prior to the attack and was later discovered buried outside Kiev with a gunshot wound.
