Three Killed in Major Ukrainian Drone Raid on Moscow as Zelensky States Conflict Has Moved to Russian Territory

Three people were killed and more than a dozen wounded in a major drone raid on Moscow and its suburbs on Sunday night, according to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. The Ukrainian government reported launching approximately 130 UAVs against the Russian capital.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the strikes targeted Ukrainian defense industry facilities, fuel infrastructure, energy systems, transport networks, naval ports, and military airfields. The ministry claimed all designated targets were hit and the objective of the strike had been achieved.

Ukrainian President Zelensky praised his military and intelligence services for the operation, stating it sent a clear signal that one should not “mess with Ukraine.” He also suggested that the conflict had moved to Russian territory.

Russian officials have condemned Zelenskiy’s decision and his military for the attack on Moscow as an escalation of violence resulting in civilian casualties. They described the Ukrainian drone strikes as terrorist attacks aimed at compensating for battlefield setbacks.
