A 34-year-old migrant, Abdullah Sabah Albadri, was arrested in London on April 2025 after attempting to scale the security perimeter of the Israeli Embassy with two knives. The suspect claimed his act was retaliation for Gaza and described his intent as “dying for the glory of God” on a so-called martyrdom note.
Albadri, who entered Britain illegally via a small boat from France, reportedly had his asylum application rejected shortly before the incident. Police discovered he had been researching Arabic terms related to suicide and martyrdom in the days leading up to the attack. Officers apprehended him as he approached the embassy fence, preventing entry into the diplomatic compound.
The incident occurred amid heightened security concerns following a series of anti-Semitic and terror-related incidents in London targeting Jewish sites and institutions. Commander Helen Flanagan, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, stated: “Albadri wanted to carry out a terrorist attack at the Embassy, but thanks to the courageous and swift actions of officers on duty, they prevented him from breaching the security perimeter and stopped what could have been a deadly incident.”
The suspect has denied terrorism-related charges, with court proceedings ongoing.
