Babies Born This Summer to Receive Historic U.S. “Freedom 250” Social Security Cards

The U.S. government has announced that babies born from July 2 through December 31, 2026 will receive special Social Security cards featuring the “Freedom 250” logo to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

On Wednesday, the Trump administration revealed that these limited edition cards will include a distinctive emblem. The Social Security Administration (SSA) further confirmed that replacement or duplicate cards issued during this period will not bear the logo.

The Freedom 250 initiative was established by the Trump administration last year to organize events marking U.S. independence.

Social Security Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano stated: “The next generation of Americans born during this historic year will receive limited-edition Social Security cards bearing the Freedom 250 logo. Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, we are strengthening Social Security, improving service, and building an SSA to serve Americans today and in the future.”

The commemorative cards will be issued for babies born between July 2 and December 31, 2026. Infants born just in time for Independence Day on July 4th are included, though not all babies born in 2026 will receive the special edition.

Additionally, the Trump administration has undertaken other Freedom 250 activities. These include projecting historical images onto the Washington Monument during New Year’s Eve 2025 and New Year’s Day 2026, depicting scenes such as George Washington crossing the Delaware River, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the moon landing.

Last month, a UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House saw the Federal Bureau of Investigation foiled a drone attack that allegedly targeted “capitalist elites” and “billionaires.” Investigators identified the ringleader as an illegal immigrant from Mexico who benefited from former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
