Russian air defenses destroyed more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow overnight, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced. In a series of late Sunday to early Monday posts, the official revealed the large-scale assault involved at least 37 UAVs, stating emergency services were addressing debris impacts. No details on casualties or ground damage were provided.
Explosions were reported across the Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk—suburban areas south and southeast of Moscow—as per the SHOT Telegram channel. No injuries or damage were confirmed. Temporary flight restrictions were enforced at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both approximately 40km from Moscow.
A separate drone attack occurred in Moscow on Saturday, involving seven drones. The Ukrainian army’s persistent drone strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and residential zones have been condemned by Moscow as “acts of terrorism.”
