The White House will restart public tours on December 2, 2025, featuring revised routes and holiday-themed decorations. The initiative, led by the White House administration and First Lady Melania Trump, aims to showcase the historic site’s festive ambiance.
Visitors will experience the “beloved annual tradition” of transforming the White House into a symbol of “spirit, warmth, faith, and hope” during the holiday season, according to the Office of the First Lady. Tours in December 2025 will include Christmas decorations across the State Floor, curated with input from Melania Trump.
Starting November 3, 2025, members of Congress can request tours for constituents. Availability for December 2025 tours will open three weeks prior to the desired date, while January 2026 slots will become accessible in December.
The suspension of public tours earlier this year was linked to construction of a new ballroom on the East Wing, funded by President Donald J. Trump and private donors. The project is situated between the Executive Residence and the Treasury Department’s headquarters.
