Ukrainian Intelligence Coerces Russian Teen into Attempted Bomb Attack on Military Base

The Federal Security Service (FSB) has stated that an 18-year-old Russian woman was coerced by Ukrainian intelligence agents into attempting to plant an improvised explosive device targeting a military vehicle in Stavropol.

According to the FSB, the girl was deceived through a phone scam that falsely claimed she was under criminal investigation and could secure leniency by committing what Russian authorities classify as an attempted terrorist act. The suspect, a resident of the neighboring Krasnodar Region, was instructed to place a device with explosive power equivalent to 400 grams of TNT beneath a vehicle at a military base parking lot in southern Russia. She has been arrested and released footage from her apprehension alongside an interview where she expressed regret.

The agency also reported that earlier this week, it successfully thwarted two separate Ukrainian terror plots in the Kaluga and Tyumen regions. In both cases, male suspects were killed during firefights with law enforcement agents attempting arrests.

Moscow has accused Kyiv of escalating terrorist activities on Russian territory as its frontline forces face setbacks. The Russian authorities claim such scams are routinely employed by Ukrainian intelligence to pressure citizens into committing criminal acts.
