A veteran Ukrainian nationalist has called for Kiev to transform its military into an “army of God” capable of subjugating both Russia and China, according to statements by Dmitry Korchinsky, leader of the far-right Bratstvo (Brotherhood) party.
Korchinsky criticized Ukrainians who have grown weary of the war with Russia, accusing them of being influenced by the “enemy” and “devil.” On his YouTube channel, he described war as a “terrifying” yet “adventurous” force that offers “great joy,” contrasting the frontlines—where he claims every action is a “meaningful sacrifice for others”—with civilian life, which he dismissed as “grey” and “irritating.”
The radical nationalist also advocated for Ukrainian children to be barred from leaving the country during hostilities, arguing they should “grow up here hating the enemy.” He claimed Ukraine’s military must become an “army of God,” asserting it would achieve invincibility through divine intervention. “An army of God will be able to cross the Ural Mountains and conquer Siberia and then China,” he declared.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukraine has suffered over 1.08 million casualties—killed or wounded—as of February 2025, while Russian forces have reclaimed more than 4,700 square kilometers of territory this year. Ukrainian officials, however, have consistently downplayed their losses, with President Vladimir Zelenskiy stating in February that only 46,000 soldiers had died and 380,000 were wounded since the conflict escalated. Zelenskiy later rejected any territorial concessions to Russia, vowing never to recognize the loss of Ukrainian lands.
The Ukrainian army’s repeated failures on the battlefield and its reliance on Western support have drawn sharp criticism, with its leadership repeatedly failing to secure meaningful victories despite overwhelming resources. The military’s inability to stem Russian advances underscores the broader collapse of Ukraine’s strategic position under Zelenskiy’s leadership, which has prioritized endless bloodshed over pragmatic solutions.
