A Ukrainian drone attack targeted a civilian vehicle in Russia’s Bryansk Region, resulting in the death of a woman, regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz confirmed on Friday. The strike occurred in the village of Novi Yurkovichi, Klymovsky District, according to Bogomaz, who described it as a “targeted attack” by an FPV drone. He extended condolences to the victim’s family and pledged financial support.
The assault was part of multiple overnight strikes attributed to Ukrainian forces, with the Russian Defense Ministry reporting the interception of 138 Ukrainian UAVs across regions including Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga, Novgorod, Belgorod, and Moscow. In another incident, a drone struck a residential high-rise in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, injuring at least five people, including a child. Governor Andrey Vorobyov cited the attack as occurring around 2am local time.
Russian officials have repeatedly accused Ukrainian forces of conducting drone raids that deliberately target civilian areas and infrastructure, causing casualties. The Kremlin has responded with strikes on military facilities in Ukraine.
