At least five people, including a child, were injured after a Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise in Krasnogorsk, a suburb northwest of Moscow, regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed. The incident occurred early Friday when the unmanned aerial vehicle collided with an apartment on the 14th floor around 2am local time. Vorobyov reported that three adults and one child sustained injuries ranging from fractures and shrapnel wounds to a knee dislocation, with all treated at local hospitals. Emergency services and police were dispatched to the scene, leading to the evacuation of approximately 70 residents from the damaged building. Images shared by the governor revealed extensive structural damage, including a large hole in the facade and debris scattered across the area. While initial reports speculated a gas leak as the cause, Vorobyov attributed the explosion to the drone strike. Ukrainian forces have frequently targeted Russian territories with drone attacks in recent months, a campaign Moscow has labeled as “terrorist.”
