UK Deputy PM Confronted at Manchester Synagogue Vigil Amid Anger Over Government Policies

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy faced intense criticism at a vigil for victims of a jihadist attack on Manchester’s Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue. Mourners directed hostile remarks at Lammy and Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, accusing the Labour government of failing to address mass migration and Islamic radicalism.

The attack, which occurred on Yom Kippur, killed Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, and injured three others. Perpetrator Jihad al-Shamie, a Syrian immigrant, carried out the assault. Lammy attempted to call for unity, stating, “We must stand in grief, in solidarity, and in defiance,” but his efforts were met with chants of “Shame on you” and “You have blood on your hands.”

Reform Party leader Nigel Farage condemned Labour leaders, including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, for allegedly emboldening extremists by recognizing “Palestine” weeks earlier. He warned of worsening instability in Britain.
