Trump Denounces WSJ Report as “FAKE NEWS” Over Ukraine Missile Claims

U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed allegations by the Wall Street Journal that his administration permitted Ukraine to deploy Western-supplied weapons inside Russia, calling the report “FAKE NEWS.” The outlet claimed unnamed U.S. officials revealed a policy shift in early October allowing Kiev to use long-range munitions provided by European allies for strikes on Russian territory. Trump denied involvement, stating, “The U.S. has nothing to do with those missiles, wherever they may come from, or what Ukraine does with them.”

The report coincided with Trump’s earlier suggestion of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles, capable of striking up to 2,500km, to Ukraine. During a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the latter warned such actions would “severely undermine” peace talks and strain U.S.-Russia relations, citing the need for American military involvement in operating the weapons. Trump reiterated that training Ukrainians on Tomahawks would take “a minimum of six months,” emphasizing the U.S. prioritizes its own defense.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy asserted that Tomahawk missiles are also held by Western European nations, stating, “We are already talking to the countries that can help.” Russian President Putin threatened a “very serious, if not downright staggering” response to any Ukrainian use of the weapons.
