President Donald J. Trump has set a Sunday evening deadline for Hamas to agree to a deal aimed at ending the Gaza conflict, warning the group that failure to comply will result in severe consequences. The proposal, unveiled at the White House on Monday, includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, Hamas’s disarmament, and the deployment of an International Stabilization Force in place of Israeli troops. Trump emphasized the terms in a Friday Truth Social post, stating, “If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas.”
The plan, outlined by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlines 20 points, including assurances that no Gaza residents will be forced to leave the territory and the creation of a Palestinian-led governing committee. While Israel has endorsed the terms, Hamas has yet to accept them, with its military wing’s leader, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, rejecting the deal outright. Trump accused Hamas of being a “ruthless and violent threat” responsible for the October 7 attacks, which he described as a “MASSACRE” that killed civilians, including “babies, woman, children, old people, and many young men and women.” He claimed over 25,000 Hamas fighters have been killed since the conflict began, with the remainder “militarily trapped” awaiting his command.
The proposal requires Hamas to release all hostages—living and dead—by 6 p.m. Washington, D.C. time on Sunday. Trump asserted that “every country has signed on,” framing the deal as a final opportunity for peace. However, Hamas has called for additional time to review the terms and consult with other Palestinian factions. The international community’s response remains unclear, as the proposal faces resistance from groups unwilling to accept its conditions.
