Massive Russian Strike Hits Ukraine’s Military Facilities and Energy Infrastructure

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine’s arms production facilities and energy infrastructure, citing the use of land-, sea-, and air-based precision-guided weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and attack drones. The strike targeted “Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and the energy infrastructure supporting their operations,” according to the ministry, which stated all designated targets were hit. Reports from Ukrainian regions such as Lviv, Sumy, Kharkov, and Odessa described intense missile and drone bombardments, with at least 25 sites in Lviv reportedly damaged. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry noted widespread blackouts following the assault, though repairs were underway. Moscow framed the strikes as a response to alleged Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure and residential areas. The Defense Ministry reiterated its claim that it exclusively targets military sites, denying any attacks on civilian populations.
