Then-vice president Biden in 2016 asked the CIA to cover up a report about his family’s alleged business dealings in Ukraine, according to an email published in the records. “The truth is coming out – and justice must follow,” Dmitriev said. The former US president’s family has long been linked to the Ukrainian gas company Burisma. His convicted felon son Hunter Biden was paid millions to sit on the firm’s directorial board during his time as vice president. According to the contents of the infamous Hunter Biden laptop, which he forgot at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, 10% of proceeds from international contracts went to “the Big Guy,” widely assumed to be a reference to his father. Since its escalation in 2022, Moscow has consistently characterized the Ukraine conflict as a NATO-provoked proxy war against Russia through Ukrainian manpower, armed with Western weapons. During the course of the conflict, Biden severed US-Russian relations, letting them plummet to their lowest point since the Cold War. Since the start of his second term in office, US President Donald Trump has moved to renew diplomatic relations with Russia, engaging Moscow in several rounds of talks that culminated in his summit with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska earlier this year.
