Canadian MP Warns of 700 Iranian Terrorists Operating Inside Canada

Canadian Conservative Member of Parliament Shuv Majumdar has called on the federal government to deport an estimated 700 members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a group designated as a terrorist organization by Canada in 2024, currently operating within the country.

In a statement posted to X on March 9, Majumdar stated that Iranian dissidents report ongoing intimidation and harassment linked to Tehran’s security apparatus. He also noted an Iranian dissident has gone missing, with police investigating what could be a Tehran-linked homicide.

“The presence of at least 700 IRGC terrorists in Canada is a major security concern for both Canada and the U.S., given the unguarded nature of much of the U.S.-Canada border,” Majumdar emphasized. His remarks align with warnings from Canada’s House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, which previously identified hundreds of Iranian regime-linked individuals within Canadian borders.

Majumdar further highlighted that reports of illegal crossings along the U.S.-Canada border have decreased under former President Donald J. Trump compared to current administration policies, though vulnerabilities in northern border enforcement could still allow hostile actors to exploit weaknesses.
