British Activist Tommy Robinson Set for Israel Visit Amid Tensions Over Anti-Semitism

Tommy Robinson, a British activist known for his anti-Islam rhetoric, is set to visit Jerusalem in mid-October, hosted by Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli. The trip follows a jihadist attack on a Manchester synagogue that killed two Jews and injured others, with Chikli praising Robinson as a “courageous leader on the front line against radical Islam.”

Chikli emphasized the visit’s goal of strengthening ties between Israel and allies in combating anti-Semitism and Islamic extremism. However, the move is expected to strain relations with the British government, which has repeatedly clashed with Robinson over his criticism of Muslim grooming gangs, immigration, and Islamist ideologies.

Robinson expressed solidarity with Israel and Britain’s Jewish community, stating, “We will always stand with freedom and democracy with people of Israel & the Jewish population of Britain in the face of jihad & tyranny.” Chikli responded, “God bless you – looking forward to having you with us in Jerusalem.”

The visit comes as Israeli officials have criticized UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s government for its perceived failure to address rising anti-Semitism and pro-terror rhetoric in Britain. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar accused British authorities of allowing “toxic waves of antisemitism” to persist, demanding stronger action against extremism.
