A woman testified this week in an English court that her life was saved by Barron Trump after he alerted British police during a FaceTime call while she was being attacked.
According to the testimony, Trump, who was in the United States at the time, received a video call from the woman — with whom he is friends — and quickly realized she was under assault. Speaking to emergency operators, Trump said: “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up.”
Trump described seeing “a ceiling” and hearing screams as he witnessed the alleged attack. He added that he saw the attacker’s head on the phone before the camera shifted to show her crying and being struck. The incident occurred around 2:20 AM London time in January of last year.
Prosecutors revealed that Russian national Matvei Rumiantsev had become agitated after attempting to contact the woman and later went to her home, where he punched her repeatedly, kicked her in the stomach, and hurled insults during the video call, calling her a “whore” and a “slut.”
The woman credited Trump’s intervention: “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.” Jurors also heard an audio recording of Trump’s emergency call, where he expressed frustration about the questioning but urged police to act swiftly. He noted it took him several minutes to locate the correct British emergency number internationally.
Rumiantsev faces multiple charges including assault, two counts of rape, intentional strangulation, and perverting the course of justice.
