Afghan Man Convicted for Threatening UK Political Figure in Viral TikTok Video

Fayaz Khan, an Afghan national, was found guilty of making a threat to kill Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Reform Party, after posting a video on TikTok in October 2024. The clip, filmed in Dunkirk, France, featured Khan, known online as Mada Pasa, using hand signals resembling gun gestures while declaring, “Englishman Nigel… don’t talk shit about me. I come to England because I want to marry your sister. I want to come to England to go pop pop pop.”

Farage described the video as “pretty chilling” during his testimony at Southwark Crown Court, stating, “Given his proximity to guns and love of guns, I was genuinely worried.” He interpreted the message as a direct threat, alleging Khan intended to harm him upon arriving in England. Khan, who had attempted to enter the UK ten times before succeeding on October 31, 2024, did not testify but provided a police interview transcript. In it, he claimed ignorance of Farage’s identity and denied intent to hurt anyone, asserting that gun signals were a regular part of his TikTok content.

Prosecutor Peter Ratliff labeled the video “sinister and menacing,” while defense lawyer Charles Royle argued it reflected Khan’s “idiosyncratic, moronic, comedic” behavior. After 11 hours and 55 minutes of deliberation, the jury convicted Khan.
