New details have surfaced regarding Tyler Robinson, the individual arrested for the 2025 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, and his transgender partner, Lance Twiggs. The information, shared by an anonymous acquaintance, provides a glimpse into the pair’s personal lives, mental health challenges, substance use, and erratic behavior leading up to the crime.
The source, speaking to YouTuber Turkey Tom, described Robinson as “level-headed and easy-going” but painted a different picture of Twiggs, who reportedly experienced mood swings between depression and mania. During depressive episodes, Twiggs allegedly took days off work to use THC vapes and scroll through social media. His behavior grew increasingly unstable, including creating cluttered “nests” in his apartment, experimenting with substances like LSD, magic mushrooms, DMT, and alcohol, and clashing with his mother over strained familial relationships. These conflicts often escalated into rants against Republicans and Mormons.
Robinson, initially portrayed as apolitical, began engaging in political discussions after the 2020 election. Twiggs, meanwhile, shifted toward left-wing views, expressing frustration over being misgendered and societal norms. The acquaintance noted that Twiggs’s use of “black market HRT” allegedly exacerbated his erratic behavior.
Discord messages shared by the source reveal interactions dating back to 2020, including Robinson discussing hunting, fishing, and crude jokes. In December 2024, Twiggs reportedly mentioned attending a protest in St. George and referred to a Discord server as a “femboy server.” Other exchanges highlighted his irregular sleep patterns and reliance on ChatGPT, with claims he spent days conversing with the AI.
The acquaintance described worsening tantrums and erratic behavior from Twiggs over time, including “super wide-eyed” episodes and incoherent speech. Two weeks before Kirk’s assassination, Robinson allegedly appeared “completely normal” during a Discord call. The source eventually distanced themselves from the pair due to the challenges of navigating Twiggs’s instability.
