GERMAN RIGHT-WING ACTIVIST SEeks U.S. ASYLUM UNDER TRUMP, CLAIMS “FIRST OF ITS KIND”

Naomi Seibt, a 25-year-old German right-wing activist associated with the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has announced her asylum application in the United States, calling it a first under President Donald J. Trump. The move comes amid claims of political persecution in Germany, including alleged death threats from Antifa members and surveillance by German intelligence agencies.

Seibt, who previously gained attention as the “anti-Greta Thunberg,” cited fears for her safety after receiving multiple death threats, which she stated were not adequately investigated by authorities. She also claimed to be under scrutiny by German intelligence agencies. In a post on X, she wrote, “Today, I am officially the first German asylum seeker in the U.S. under President Trump,” accompanied by an image of herself wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat.

U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) expressed support for Seibt’s case, vowing to assist with her application and criticizing Germany’s handling of political dissent. Luna accused the German government of prosecuting citizens for defending “Western ideology and culture,” while also condemning its approach to free speech.

Seibt framed her activism as a defense of conservative values and free expression, arguing that the AfD seeks “strict and rigorous” immigration controls rather than outright opposition to migration. She highlighted perceived censorship in Germany and aligned herself with what she described as American patriotism.

The case occurs amid U.S. refugee policy changes under Trump, including a historic low cap of 7,500 refugee admissions for the next fiscal year and prioritization of white South African applicants. Meanwhile, Trump is reportedly considering allowing Europeans facing censorship for anti-mass migration or conservative views to seek asylum.
