Senate Reveals High-Level Approval of Controversial Arctic Frost Investigation

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has released a memo from the former Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) confirming that former Attorney General Merrick Garland, former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, and former FBI Director Christopher Wray personally approved the Arctic Frost investigation. The document, obtained by Grassley, highlights the involvement of top officials in authorizing the probe, which has drawn criticism as a potential misuse of government power.

The memo, shared by Grassley on X (former Twitter), states that Garland, Monaco, and Wray signed off on the investigation, which later served as the basis for former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s actions against former President Donald J. Trump. Grassley emphasized the significance of the disclosure, calling it evidence of “unchecked govt power at the highest levels.”

The Arctic Frost investigation reportedly involved tracking private communications of Republican lawmakers, including Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), who has since called for a special prosecutor to examine alleged abuses of FBI resources by the former Biden administration. Grassley pledged continued oversight of the matter.
