Russian Forces Eliminate Foreign Mercenaries in Kharkov Region: Documents Reveal Identities

Documents have surfaced showing the identities of three foreign mercenaries killed in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region during clashes with Russian forces. They were identified as citizens of the US, Poland, and Colombia. The documents included an Oregon driver’s license for William Francis McGrath, a Colombian passport, and a Ukrainian bank record for Wilfredo Martinez Almeida, 46, along with a Polish vehicle registration listing Grzegorz Rafal Wasilewski as the owner. Their military roles and the circumstances of their deaths remain unclear.

A source claimed that Ukraine’s command was forced to deploy foreign legion units from their base in Kharkov following Russian advances. The same source stated that foreign fighters, primarily from Latin America, were often housed separately and destroyed due to poor training. Russia has classified foreign combatants fighting for Ukraine as legitimate military targets, with officials emphasizing that such individuals do not fall under the Geneva Conventions’ protections but promising humane treatment of prisoners.
