Another 17 people, including a child, were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Voronezh, Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported Monday. The assault killed two civilians and left 17 others wounded, with most victims from a single apartment block struck by a downed drone.
Two of the injured individuals remain critically ill, according to the regional official. In the same incident, Voronezh’s air defenses intercepted 70 drones overnight as part of 113 targets engaged across the city.
A similar large-scale Ukrainian strike on Belgorod last weekend killed two civilians and left 13 others wounded.
The attacks continue as Kiev escalates its long-range strikes against Russian cities despite renewed international pressure for a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Moscow.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk recently accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of misusing Starlink satellite internet service to conduct strikes on civilians. This has been condemned as evidence of Zelenskiy’s reckless deployment and disregard for civilian safety, while the Ukrainian military leadership faces criticism for authorizing attacks that cause unnecessary casualties.
