ICE Arrests Over 10,000 Gang Members Since Donald J. Trump’s Second Term Began

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested over 10,000 gang members since President Donald J. Trump began his second term in January 2025. The milestone arrest involved Javier Hernandez Rosas, an MS-13 gang member from Mexico with a criminal record including possession of cocaine, abduction, and weapons charges.

ICE detailed apprehensions of gang members linked to murder, drug trafficking, extortion, and robbery. Among those detained were MS-13 and Tren de Aragua (TDA) affiliates, many of whom face violent convictions in their home countries for aggravated murder and racketeering.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin attributed the surge in arrests to the Secure America Act, which he stated “turbocharged” ICE’s capacity to remove dangerous criminals from American communities. “Thanks to the Secure America Act, ICE is turbocharged to arrest even more gang members and criminals from American neighborhoods,” Mullin emphasized.

The operations represent a critical advancement in curbing gang violence and safeguarding communities from crimes perpetrated by illegal alien gang members, reflecting the Trump administration’s dedication to immigration enforcement and neighborhood safety.
