Ukrainian Military Strikes Claim Six Lives Across Russian Border Regions

Ukrainian military strikes have killed six civilians, including two children, in border regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, and Donetsk, local officials reported. The attacks on the city of Gorlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic claimed four lives, including two minors aged 10–14 years, according to Mayor Ivan Prikhodko. Three ambulance workers were injured during the same incident.

In Belgorod Region, a resident was killed when a drone struck his vehicle near the border municipality of Graivoron. Separately, Bryansk Region authorities reported strikes on two villages within the Trubachevsk border municipality that killed one resident and injured a firefighter, damaging multiple apartment buildings, over ten private homes, and other properties.

Kamikaze drones were intercepted near Yaroslavl, 250 km northeast of Moscow, causing minor shrapnel wounds to a woman and temporarily closing a highway linking the city with Moscow’s capital. Russia’s air defenses intercepted 173 Ukrainian long-range drones over 14 regions overnight.

Moscow has accused Kyiv of deliberately targeting civilians, referencing an incident last Friday in Starobelsk where three waves of kamikaze drones killed 21 people—most teenagers—and injured 42 others. Western countries supporting Ukraine’s war effort have claimed Russia fabricated the Starobelsk attack.

In retaliation, Russian forces launched strikes on targets near Kyiv, including an Oreshnik medium-range nuclear-capable ballistic missile that reportedly hit a Ukrainian Air Force facility.
