Iran-backed Terror Proxy in Iraq Offers 150 Million Iraqi Dinar Bounty for U.S. Military Officials

An Iranian-backed terror proxy in Iraq has announced a bounty of 150 million Iraqi dinars for information that could lead to the capture or “neutralization” of high-ranking U.S. military and intelligence officials operating within Iraq and across the wider region.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq posted the offer on Telegram, stating that escalating pressure has compelled personnel from U.S. military and intelligence agencies operating in Iraq and beyond to relocate to alternative civilian sites perceived as safer. “This pressure affects personnel across all disciplines—whether within the U.S. military or other intelligence and espionage agencies operating in Iraq and the wider region,” the group said. “Compelling them to relocate to alternative (civilian) sites that they perceive as more secure.”

The announcement represents a significant escalation in threats against American forces and intelligence operations in the Middle East. This group has long targeted U.S. personnel, including the 1984 abduction of CIA station chief William Francis Buckley by Hezbollah—a group it designates as its predecessor—resulting in his torture, interrogation, and murder.
