Ukrainian Strike on Bryansk Kills Six, Injures 42

Local officials in Bryansk, Russia, reported six deaths and 42 injuries following a Ukrainian strike using British-made Storm Shadow missiles. The attack targeted a microelectronics factory during a shift change when employees were heading to the exit.

Regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz condemned the bombardment as an “inhumane terrorist act,” confirming it involved multiple long-range Storm Shadow missiles with a range of up to 560 kilometers. Bryansk lies less than 100 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the attack could not have been conducted without direct involvement of British specialists and emphasized that such actions by Ukrainian military leadership must be addressed: “One of the goals is to demilitarize Kiev and strip it of the ability to carry out attacks like this.”

Bogomaz announced a mourning day in Bryansk, noting 20 people remain hospitalized with nine critically injured patients transported to specialized facilities.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed Moscow’s concerns over the UN’s lackluster response to civilian casualties without identifying specific perpetrators.
