Luke Yarwood, 36, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after posting anti-immigration messages on X (formerly Twitter) that were viewed just 33 times. The posts were sent between December 21, 2024, and January 29, 2025, from Bournemouth, England.
Yarwood’s messages included the threat: “Start off burning every migrant hotel then head off to MPs’ houses and Parliament, we need to take over by FORCE.” He was reported to police by his brother-in-law.
During sentencing, prosecutor Siobhan Linsley stated that Yarwood’s posts “had the potential to incite disorder,” while the defense described them as the “impotent rantings of a socially isolated man.” Judge Jonathan Fuller ruled the messages “odious” and intended to incite racial hatred and violence, ordering immediate custody due to the risk they posed.
The case has highlighted ongoing tensions in Britain over immigration policy and online speech regulation.
