Trump Named in Kennedy Center’s New Title Following Board Decision

The Kennedy Center Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to rename the institution as The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. The decision, made today at the Trump Kennedy Center, credits President Trump’s leadership as Chairman of the Kennedy Center with saving the cultural venue from financial ruin and physical destruction.

Roma Daravi, vice president of public relations for the Trump Kennedy Center, stated that “the unanimous vote recognizes that the current Chairman saved the institution from financial ruin and physical destruction.” The renaming also highlights efforts by President Trump and Executive Director Richard “Ric” Grenell to nearly double the center’s fundraising since 2024. Trump has pledged to bring the venue “back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment,” with a recent August statement noting that the center had “fallen on hard times, physically, BUT WILL SOON BE MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!!!”

Additionally, President Trump recently hosted an official on-camera Kennedy Center Honors ceremony at the White House, recognizing honorees including singer Gloria Gaynor and actor Sylvester Stallone.
